General Mercer Public School, Toronto
GRADES K-6
(“Midtown-Uptown Public” Rankings)
UPDATE DEC 2022: Rankings for the City of Toronto (except Etobicoke and the West End/High Park area) have been discontinued. Please also continue to see school rankings for the following:
Mississauga, Oakville, Burlington, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Markham, Brampton, Milton, Georgetown, and Hamilton
The General Mercer school ranking represents an opinion of ours based on hundreds of hours of research with the end-goal of determining where the “best” schools in the Toronto area are FOR young families.
Every other Ontario real estate website uses the “Fraser Institute rankings”, but these rankings can pose many problems for young families. Our rankings are far more integrated with the consistency and the “teacher support” a school receives – both HUGE factors – as well as EQAO Performance.
SusiHomes classifies schools (for their clients) into the following four groups:
Premium Recommendations
Alternate Recommendations
Tertiary Recommendations
Not Recommended
With the SUSI Rankings we help our clients find the best school/home combination possible!

General Mercer EQAO Performance & Consistency (2020)

The EQAO performance for General Mercer is recorded each year at SusiHomes and turned into the figures like the example you see to the left. These become the EQAO calculations used to determine our final annual rankings. A “consistency number” is then assigned to General Mercer based on how dependable the school has been over the last seven years, and then all numbers are mixed with Teacher Support (below) before producing a final ranking. See a more detailed explanation of how we determine our rankings here.
General Mercer Teacher Support (2020)

Median Income ($$) – 77K
Single Parents – 24.6%
University Degree – 23.6%
High School or Less – 49.2%
ESL – 3.1%
Recent Immigrants – 3.1%
The Teacher Support receives at General Mercer is critical to determining its final ranking. Exactly what we mean by this is laid out here, but in a nutshell, if a school rises above their demographical expectations, they then can be considered a more worthy school, than others, for the attention of young family purchasers.
General Mercer Demographics (2020)

Our exclusive School-District-Specific DEMOGRAPHICS are available to ALL HomeBuyers at SusiHomes, and they include Income Levels, Religions, Single Parents, Languages Spoken, and much more. These are demographics ONLY within the school district itself!!
